The Veep season four trailer finds Selina Meyer shamelessly drinking in the presidency

America loves its TV shows about ruthless politicians who acquire the nation’s highest office by less-than-traditional means, and because binge culture dictates that House Of Cards’ 13 hours in the spotlight are already up, it’s time to shift our focus to Selina Meyer and the Veep season four trailer. From the looks of it, showrunner Armando Iannucci and team have no plans to slow down now that Selina is president and Hugh Laurie has joined the cast, possibly as the new veep.

The show is known for inflating its characters to glorious heights only to immediately yank the chair out from under them, so with Selina having reached the height of her powers, we can probably expect her to trip up more fantastically than ever. Veep also boasts the strongest roster of characters TV comedy has to offer, so fans will be delighted to know that Mike, Amy, Dan, Gary, and the rest of the gang—Jonah especially—appear to be in top form. And as if that weren’t incentive enough, the very end of the trailer shows that the casting director has found Hollywood’s most incredulous-looking toddler. Veep returns to HBO April 12.
