The Veronica Mars movie brings back Weevil and other person
Continuing the trend of adding an obligatory, much-beloved fan favorite and then another person, the Veronica Mars movie has officially signed up Francis Capra—otherwise known as “Weevil”—and also Christine Lakin. Director Rob Thomas noted Capra’s addition himself in an email to the film’s Kickstarter backers, writing, “Playing a wrong-side-of-the-tracks-kid in a town full of privileged peers, Francis found a terrific—and difficult—balance between tough and soulful,” then stopped just short of adding a doodle of himself on the back of Weevil’s motorcycle, both of them rumbling off to a future where Thomas knows he can tame him. And The Hollywood Reporter broke news of the addition of Lakin, whose character Susan Knight appeared just once in a single first-season episode that’s likely better remembered for its inclusion of Leighton Meester and Adam Scott—neither of whom are signed on yet. However, seeing as the film takes place during Veronica’s 10-year high-school reunion, it's possible Scott will show up, maybe working for the misfit party planning team who's charged with catering?
