This week's Riverdale will be Luke Perry's last

The creator of CW’s Riverdale confirmed via Twitter that this week’s episode would be the last for Luke Perry, who died of a stroke on March 4 at the age of 52. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa posted a brief tribute to both Perry and his character Fred Andrews with a photo of the late actor.

Perry played the father of Archie Andrews and was a steadying presence throughout three seasons. It is still unclear as to how the show plans to handle Perry’s untimely death. Perry can still be seen in his final film role, the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, where he will play Scott Lancer. Per EW, the film had already wrapped prior to his death.

Perry’s final episode of Riverdale, titled “Chapter Fifty-Four: Fear the Reaper,” airs this Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST.
