Today in Star Wars rumors: Harrison Ford officially involved with next Star Wars film, says totally unofficial report

Following up on those encouraging reports that, upon being informed of the possibility of another Star Wars movie, Harrison Ford did not begin comically expelling steam from his ears before lashing a Disney executive to the underside of his helicopter, today comes the still-unofficial rumor that Ford is officially on board to reprise his role as Han Solo. “It’s official,” reads a report from Latino Review that is not at all official, with that site’s El Mayimbe swearing that he “did my due diligence, like I do with everything. Triple checked. Legitimate sources.” Sources that, nevertheless, do not involve Ford or anyone involved with Lucasfilm actually going on record as saying that it’s happening.

“His deal is done. It’s just a formality. They haven’t really announced it yet,” Mayimbe said of the deal that as of now only he is certain of, and which lacks only the “formality” of being announced somewhere other than Latino Review or Fox News Latino. Still, with the admission that Latino Review actually has broken some stories in the past, and provided one can trust this sort of reporting—i.e. you don't insist on “named sources” and “official confirmations”—Solo will have a “significant” role in the next Star Wars film, probably right up until he’s finally allowed to die. Take it from the guy in the the video below.

[UPDATE: After this article caused something of a social media furor, I've edited it to remove the joke about "Latino-based show business news reporting" and the non-Latino's "racist" insistence on only using named sources. As far as I know, there is no racist stereotype about Latinos not using sources for their show business reporting, so I thought, in context, it was an obviously ironic joke. Clearly it was not. I'm sorry for writing it and for offending. That was not my intention.

I'm also sorry for referring to El Mayimbe as "the leather jacket-wearing guy." For what it's worth, it's a pretty boss leather jacket.]
