British soul singer and recent Mick Jagger collaborator Joss Stone was the target of a murder plot, revealed after police arrested two men yesterday who were circling her home in a red Fiat (and yes, our Pop Pilgrims correspondents have an alibi) that contained rope, swords, a body bag, and detailed maps and aerial photos of her property. Fortunately Stone’s neighbors became suspicious and notified the authorities before things took a horrible turn, and both men are now in custody. In a statement, Stone said that she is “absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their inquiries”—or as normal as life can be with the knowledge that you’re famous enough that people are apparently coming after you with swords, like some sort of medieval nightmare. This is why rich people used to build moats.
