Some might say the Disney+ series Secret Invasion is remembered less for its Skrull invasion intrigues than for its use of AI in producing its opening credits (okay, that Emilia Clarke with Drax’s arm meme, too). That use came to light amid the Writers Guild Of America strike in 2023 and unleashed a shitstorm of bad press for Disney, Marvel Studios, and the company that produced the sequence, Method Studios. With that in mind, it’s notable that the creator and showrunner of Marvel’s latest TV series, VisionQuest—which, mind you, is about robots and artificial intelligence—is jumping in to address any worries about GenAI use ahead of the series’ Disney+ premiere on October 14.
