Just because we live in a surveillance state doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun, right? That’s what the home security specialists over at Nest were probably thinking when they announced their list of winners for the 2017 Nestie Awards, which is billed as “the biggest awards show you’ve never heard of for videos you’ve never seen.” Featuring ridiculously specific categories like Best Haunted Blanket and Best Supporting Deer (which turned out to be absolutely brutal, by the way), the Nesties are awarded to snippets of hilarious shit caught on people’s home security cameras. And if you’re thinking, “Hey, this sounds a lot like America’s Funniest Home Videos,” you’re not wrong, but that doesn’t make it any less fun.
