Weekend Box Office

It was a weekend of Thanksgiving leftovers at the box office: The top seven films remained from last weekend–albeit with some slight shuffling–with two new releases making a minor splash on the back end of the top 10. Four Christmases held up well in its second frame, posting the smallest percentage drop and holding on to No. 1 for the second week with $18.18 million. Twilight and Bolt swapped spots from last week, with the former moving up to No. 2 with $13.2 million and the latter dropping to No. 3 with $9.7 million. There was a similar shift in the next two spots, with Australia bumping up a spot to No. 4 with $7 million, and Quantum Of Solace down a spot to No. 5 with $6.6 million. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Transporter 3 held steady at the No. 6 and 7 spots with $5.1 million and $4.5 million, respectively.

The only new contenders to break the top 10 this week were Punisher: War Zone at No. 8 with $4 million, and Cadillac Records at No. 9 with $3.5 million. Role Models rounded things out at No. 10 with $2.6 million. Numbers were way down across the board compared to last holiday weekend, with the top 10 films combined taking in just over half of what the top three made last week.
