Confessions Of A Shopaholic held it down for the ladies this weekend, debuting at No. 4 with $15.4 million, an estimated 74 percent of which came from female moviegoers, while the Clive Owen actioner The International debuted modestly at No. 7 with $10 million and an audience that was roughly 60 percent male.
The rest of the top 10 held up extremely well in this week’s huge frame—the highest-grossing February weekend on record—with several films making negligible percentage drops since last week. Coraline came in at No. 5 with $15.3 million, a less than 10 percent drop since its debut last week. Paul Blart: Mall Cop actually took in more receipts this weekend than last, but still bumped down a spot to No. 6 with $11.7 million. The Pink Panther 2 didn’t fare quite as well, dropping down to No. 8 from No. 4 in its second frame with $9 million. Slumdog Millionaire continued to ride its Oscar buzz to a $7.15 million take, placing it at No. 9. Push rounded out the top 10 with $6.93 in receipts in its sophomore weekend.
