The biggies
Batman: Caped Crusader (Prime Video, Thursday, 12:01 a.m.)
A ton of actors have voiced Gotham’s wealthy vigilante in the past, from Kevin Conroy to Harley Quinn‘s Diedrich Bader. Hamish Linklater takes up the challenge next in Batman: Caped Crusader, an animated series from Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams. Prime Video’s project also promises Christina Ricci as Catwoman, Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn, and Bader as Harvey Dent, a.k.a. Two-Face. The Prime series drops all 10 episodes of its first season at once. Look out for The A.V. Club‘s review on Monday.
A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder (Netflix, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)
Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder book series gets the TV treatment thanks to BBC Three and Netflix. In the show, Wednesday‘s Emma Myers portrays Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a British teen obsessed with solving the murder of a local student. To do so, she teams up with the accused’s brother, Ravi Singh (Zain Iqbal). Check out The A.V. Club‘s review of the six-episode season on Tuesday.
Hidden gems
Women In Blue (Apple TV+, Wednesday, 12:01 a.m.)
The ’70s-set series Women In Blue is based on the true story of Mexico’s first four female police officers, who realize their squad is a publicity stunt to draw media attention away from a notorious serial killer’s crimes. Follow along as María (Bárbara Mori), Gabina (Amorita Rasgado), Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana), and Valentina (Natalia Téllez) band together to find the murderer—and accomplish what their male colleagues couldn’t.
Love Is Blind: Mexico (Netflix, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)
If you’re having Love Is Blind withdrawals, Netflix saves the day with a Mexico-based version. As per the usual format, 30 singles participate in this 10-episode season, dating from behind a wall without seeing each other as a way to prioritize personality over looks (because every reality series needs a gimmick), this time with hosts Omar and Lucy Chaparro.
