The biggies

Nobody Wants This (Netflix, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

Nobody Wants This returns to continue examining the relationship between podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) and rabbi Noah (Adam Brody), which evolves despite some new hurdles that are thrown their way. Season two welcomes Arian Moayed, Alex Karpovsky, and Leighton Meester into the cast. Look for The A.V. Club‘s review on Thursday.


Lazarus (Prime Video, Wednesday, 12:01 a.m.)

Based on Harlan Coben’s novel, this supernatural thriller centers on a forensic psychologist (played by Sam Claflin) who returns home after his father’s death and gets roped into solving cold cases, including one that ties back to his own sister’s murder several years ago. The A.V. Club‘s review publishes Tuesday.

The Guest (Showtime, Sunday, 9 p.m.) 

After airing on BBC One last month, four-part British series The Guest arrives in the U.S. The show explores an unhealthy dynamic between a cleaner, Ria (Gabrielle Creevy), and her wealthy boss, Fran (Eve Myles), and how their obsession with each other turns deadly.


The Road (CBS, Sunday, 9 p.m.)

In this country-music competition, 12 contestants vie to become the next opening act for Grammy winner Keith Urban, who appears in the show and executive produced it with folks like Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan.
