White Pisces talk about the Weather on debut album
Though White Pisces hasn’t existed for long, it’s got a pedigree that warrants attention right out of the gate. With members of heavy hitters like Slow Warm Death and Street Smart Cyclist, the band has jumped to life with a full LP that plays like a long-lost release from Sub-Pop’s early days. The A.V. Club is streaming all of White Pisces debut, Weather, which builds hooks out of sludgy melodies, reverb-caked vocals, and the kind of slacker aesthetic that typified the Pacific Northwest in the late-‘80s and early-‘90s. Pennsylvania’s Square Of Opposition Records has launched pre-orders for the super-limited vinyl pressing of Weather, so it’s best to get while the getting’s good. The band also has a string of dates set up with the deconstructive, one-man project NAH following Weather‘s vinyl release, all of which can be found below.
