Will Ferrell and Adam McKay aren’t planning on a Step Brothers sequel anytime soon
Back in 2013, Adam McKay told The A.V. Club that he and Will Ferrell were going to make a sequel to Step Brothers when they were having trouble getting the Anchorman 2 off the ground. But Ron Burgundy ended up returning to the big screen, and, alas, now it seems that Dale Doback and Brennan Huff may never do the same. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, McKay and Ferrell explain why you won’t see a Step Brothers 2 in the immediate future. “You have to resist the temptation,” Ferrell said. “It’s just tough because the things everyone wants you to do sequels of are special because there’s not a sequel of [them]. I guess we’ll see, but as of now there are no plans. We just don’t want to be doing sequels of everything.”
