Will Forte still thinks Coyote Vs. Acme axing is "fucking bullshit"

Coyote Vs. Acme never got its day in court, but Will Forte is still trying to litigate its fate in the court of public opinion. To the anger of the film’s team, the animation community, and even a member of Congress, Warner Bros. decided to permanently shelve the Looney Tunes comedy for a $30 million tax write-off in 2023. It was the third fully completed movie to be axed by the studio after both Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt in 2022.
David Zaslav bizarrely claimed that these decisions took “real courage” (from him, of course) in 2023, but Forte—who starred in Coyote Vs. Acme with John Cena and Lana Condor—has a slightly different perspective. “My thoughts were that it’s fucking bullshit,” he said in a recent interview with MovieWeb. “It is such a delightful movie. It deserves so much better than it got. I can’t tell you possibly why the decision was made to not release it. But it makes my blood boil.”
Echoing Batgirl co-director Bilall Fallah’s characterization of the shelving as “a traumatic experience,” Forte continued: “Thank you for asking me about it because I like talking about the movie because I don’t want people to forget what [Warner Bros.] did to this… I would understand if the thing sucked, but it’s really good. Maybe somehow we get to see it at some point. I hope people do. I was really proud of it.”
