Yes, Chevy Chase will still be on Community
In news that should allay all of your deepest, darkest fears about the next season of Community—except for those that have to do with losing its defining creative voice, and this resulting in a slightly lobotomized version of its former insanity—Deadline confirms that all of the show's cast members will be back, everyone from the Greendale Seven to Ken Jeong and Jim Rash. And yes, that also includes Chevy Chase, whose grumbling about being tied to a "fucking mediocre sitcom," avowal that he "probably won't be around that much longer," and intermittent war of voicemails with Dan Harmon set us on this rocky road. Chase will now have to find someone or something else to blame for the show not paying proper tribute to his years of comedy superiority when he returns for the next 13 episodes, such as new showrunners David Guarascio and Moses Port or maybe the sun.
Unfortunately, you'll likely have to wait until well after Community's Oct. 19 debut to hear from Chase about his perspective on that whole affair or the show's current transition: Along with the still-touring Donald Glover, Chase won't be appearing at this year's Comic-Con panel—he's conveniently "out of town"—but Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, and Yvette Nicole Brown will all be there to put an awkward positive spin on the future, and take all of your freaking out delicately phrased as questions.
