Your Uber driver movie will arrive eventually
In a film industry brimming with sequels to spinoffs of franchises of adaptations of comic-book series, it’s kind of heartwarming to see an original non-commissioned screenplay get picked up every once in a while. That’s why it’s nice to hear that Fox just purchased the spec screenplay Stuber for something in the mid-six figures, according to Deadline. Tripper Clancy‘s action-comedy follows an Uber driver named Stu over the course of one extremely trying evening, which sounds kind of like a “Taxi Driver meets After Hours” deal. Or maybe it’s more like Drive meets Adventures In Babysitting—at this point, we can only speculate.
