30 Rock is staging a live anniversary show this October

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the sitcom, Tina Fey and company are raising money for The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem.

30 Rock is staging a live anniversary show this October

For its 20th anniversary, 30 Rock is returning to Rockefeller Center. Well, not exactly Rockefeller Center, but nearby. No, not St. Patrick’s. This October, the series that so successfully satirized its contemporary media environment and seemingly predicted the silliness of MILF Manor will return for a special, one-night-only show to benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Harlem. (The funds from that TV spot that Tracy filmed for them back in season five have seemingly dried up.) Tickets go on pre-sale tomorrow at 10 am ET, and general on-sale on Thursday, August 27. 

Said Fey in a press statement, “Listen up tens, a five is speaking! Please join us to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show Tom Shales once said ‘needs a better premise and funnier dialogue… and most of all a more commanding performer in the starring role.'”

The core five from the cast—Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBreyer, and Alec Baldwin—announced the news today with an Instagram reel that sure blurred the lines between the actors and their characters. (Apparently Krakowski is just as willing to poop on the floor of a theater for attention as Jenna Maroney is.) According to Variety, all five of them will be there, along with some other cast members—we might guess that Scott Adsit and Judah Friedlander might show up, given that they’re both in the show’s opening credits—along with some other celebrity surprises, as is 30 Rock‘s wont. Given Fey’s recurring role in Only Murders In The Building, perhaps there could be a return of Gavin Volure, or perhaps Krakowski could link with her fellow former first lady Tituss Burgess and we might finally see more from D’Fwan. In any case, this special is promised never to be televised, so set your alarm for Thursday morning if you want to see one more TGS.
