A whole bunch of people tweeted about Peter Pan Live!
Further ensuring that by the year 2025 there will be nothing on TV but provocations to tweet mean things about whatever is happening on screen, Peter Pan Live! did just okay in traditional Nielsen ratings but was a huge hit on Twitter. Variety reports that 475,000 individual tweets about the show, 200,000 of which were presumably jokes about having a weird boner for Allison Williams, were generated by 147,000 unique Twitter users last night. Those tweets were viewed a total of 106.9 million times.
That handily beats the 50,227 tweets about Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, but is still over 100,000 short of the 581,000 tweets generated during the premiere of Sharknado 2. So, going forward, NBC is advised to maintain Peter Pan Live!’s spirit of positivity, but maybe consider casting Tara Reid in next year’s musical spectacle.
