Adam Sandler’s first movie for Netflix is certainly an Adam Sandler movie

Much as the frontiersman blazed a trail across the Wild West littered with rotting buffalo carcasses and pox-ridden blankets, Adam Sandler will forge his path into making movies exclusively for Netflix with his Western comedy The Ridiculous 6. Sandler has been planning to take his next paid vacation in the desert for years now, with Sony, Paramount, and Warner Bros. all briefly considering, then bailing in the wake of box-office returns for Blended and Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways To Die In The West—as well as Sandler’s Netflix deal. But now the streaming service has confirmed that its plan to put Sandler movies directly into the milieu of decreased competition and private shame where they most thrive will begin with Ridiculous 6, and with the sort of overstuffed, slumming cast that will make you say, “Yep, that’s an Adam Sandler movie.”

Along with returning Sandler enablers like Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz, Steve Buscemi, Dan Aykroyd, Will Forte, Nick Swardson, Terry Crews, and Taylor Lautner, the Western spoof will also reportedly include Nick Nolte, in what will be the worst thing to happen to horses since Luck. Luke Wilson, Steve Zahn, Danny Trejo, Chris Parnell, Whitney Cummings, and Breaking Bad’s Lavell Crawford are also expected to appear in some capacity, as is Blake Shelton, having recently discovered a hankering for making a mockery of cowboy culture after his gig hosting Saturday Night Live, as well as several seasons of The Voice. Shelton is supposedly signing on to play Wyatt Earp, while Vanilla Ice will play Mark Twain, crafter of the sort of subtle Southern satire that eventually evolved into an Adam Sandler spoof Western where Vanilla Ice plays Mark Twain, so it probably serves him right.

While it’s obviously a comedic spin on Westerns like The Magnificent Seven, according to The Wrap’s plot description, The Ridiculous 6 also incorporates some Little Big Man, with Sandler playing an orphan raised by a Native American tribe. Lautner, Schneider, Wilson, Crews, and a comically mismatched physical type still to be announced will play Sandler’s half-brothers, while Nolte will play his father. Meanwhile, Parnell is a bank manager, Lovitz is “a wealthy industrialist and Cummings his flirtatious wife,” while Buscemi plays a local “jack-of-all-trades,” which already sounds like a long set-up for a joke about jacking off. Those five brothers who are presumably Sandler’s Ridiculous 6 will square off against rival gangs led by Will Forte and Danny Trejo, while an actress to play Sandler’s unreasonably attractive love interest has yet to be named.

Production on The Ridiculous 6 will begin in February. Choices to stream the movie because you are too hungover to make better decisions will begin soon thereafter.
