Can we get a huh, sigit, eeyaah? Enjoy this supercut of Kanye West’s noises

Rapper, writer, producer, innovator, and all-around controversy magnet Kanye West is a man with a lot to say. Over the course of a prolific, 20-year career in hip-hop, he has rarely been at a loss for words, even when it’s not his turn to speak. However, there are certain occasions when even the hyper-verbose West apparently feels that the conventional English vocabulary does not suit his needs. There are currently over a million possible words in the language of Shakespeare, at least as estimated by Global Language Monitor, and yet none of them adequately express what West is feeling in his beautiful, dark, twisted heart. At times like those, West relies on his noises. Yes, the rapper has a formidable array of strange, unnerving vocalizations at his disposal. These verbal ejaculations are the subject of “Kanye West’s Favorite Noises,” a new supercut from the six-man comedy team known as BORT. The career-spanning video is especially useful for anyone trying to master a West impression. From “HUH” to “HYAHH!,” all of his greatest nonsensical interjections are here. The typeface and orange background used in the video pay clever homage to West’s Life Of Pablo album.
And “Favorite Noises” is merely the latest of BORT’s West-themed supercuts. The troupe has a whole series of similar videos, each one based on one of West’s “favorite” things. These comedians have been obsessively keeping tabs on numerous aspects of West’s lyrics and sorting his word choices into various categories. There’s one video, for instance, just about the rapper’s favorite foods, including cake and several variations on the word “cake.” But plenty of other foods and beverages have received shout-outs in West’s songs. Just listen.
