Chicago, make contact with Arrival early and for free
Our film editor, A.A. Dowd, saw (and really liked) Denis Villeneuve’s alien thriller Arrival earlier this year, but he still won’t tell us if the alien symbols Amy Adams spends the movie puzzling over just mean “How To Cook For 40 Humans.” Now, those of you in Chicago can wield similar power over your friends and loved ones, with a chance to see the Sicario director’s big-budget first-contact flick early and for free.
All you have to do is head to this link and pick up your passes to an early showing at Chicago’s AMC River East 21 theater, at 7:00 p.m. on November 7. (The film opens nationwide on November 11.) Be sure to get there early, though, because these advance screenings always overbook, and you don’t want some other jerk you’re friends with talking about how Jeremy Renner made Serak The Preparer cry.
