Chris Brown, tired of media rehashing his violent past, smashes window at Good Morning America
As America continues to ask itself whether it can allow itself to love Chris Brown again in the wake of his violent beating of Rihanna, Good Morning America posed that question a little more directly, using Brown’s live appearance on the show today to probe him about the incident and its aftermath, all to the singer’s visible discomfort and repeated insistence that he was just there to promote his new album. After correspondent Robin Roberts asked him to explain its title, F.A.M.E., Brown avowed that it stood for “Forgiving All My Enemies,” saying that he was just trying to be positive “after all I went through” and his dealing with “haters” who totally tried to hate on him, all because he was convicted of felony assault on his girlfriend. (Haters gonna hate, right?) When Roberts continued to press him to talk about the Rihanna incident specifically, Brown repeated that he was just there to talk about the new record, saying that’s what he wanted people to focus on, instead of the violent, angry person he was two years ago because “I think I’m past that."
