Colin Jost and Pete Davidson are finally hosting comedy nights on that abandoned ferry they bought

You can read Ferme’s review of the show—which included an intro from Davidson and Jost, but not actual comedy sets from either man—here, but the main takeaway is that even the current and former SNL stars seem to know that it is weird to do comedy while standing on a floating Snapple commercial that used to be full of asbestos. Several mentions are made of how “muggy” the interior of the un-air-conditioned ferry were, and Jost and Davidson both made light, as they have before, of what a weird, poorly thought-out purchase the whole thing was. (They reportedly paid $280,000 for it along with a group of investors, but keeping a ferry docked in a New York harbor for four years is also pretty dang expensive, even before you get to extensive repair costs.) The two hosts took different approaches to the massive amount of shit they’ve gotten over the years for all this: Davidson issued an enthusiastic “suck it” to critics, while Jost joked about thanking the event’s “former sponsor,” “My accountant’s suicide note.”

The Snapple money has presumably helped smooth some of that misery: Even if we didn’t learn much about Jost and Davidson’s wider plans for the ferry, we did hear, repeatedly, that they’re putting the beverage back in glass bottles (in select locations in New York). So, hey: At least somebody’s getting something out of this absurdity.
