Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Monday, October 19. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW, 8 p.m.): The only reason Crazy Ex-Girlfriend didn’t get the Top Pick spot last Monday was because it was up against its CW sister Jane The Virgin, reigning queen on Monday night television. But Jane’s musical lead-in might just be this fall’s breakout hit in the same way Jane was last year. The pilot was definitely one of the best surprises of the season so far, and as our resident Crazy Ex-Girlfriend correspondent Allison Shoemaker urges in her TV Club review of the first episode: Don’t let this show’s title deter you. We can’t wait to see what new adventures and breakdowns Rebecca faces in West Covina this week as she obsessed over Josh’s girlfriend Valencia.

Jane The Virgin (The CW, 9 p.m.): Mateo is back and safely in Jane’s arms, but as Jane tries to bond with her newborn, tension heightens between Rafael and Michael. Meanwhile, accidental newlyweds Xo and Ro have to perform together on a cruise ship for legal reasons. Luisa is probably spiraling about something.

Also, we’re pitting families against each other in a series of fictional family feuds, starting with Lorelai Gilmore vs. Ann Romano.

The Voice (NBC, 8 p.m.): It’s night three of the Battle Round, which means we’re still less than halfway through season nine of The Voice.

Scorpion (CBS, 9 p.m.): Scorpion wants you to know it’s a super fun show, so it has titled this episode “Super Fun Guys.” According to the official synopsis, the Scorpion team literally goes undercover on the set of a superhero movie to stop real-life terrorist activity from going down. Super fun!

Switched At Birth (ABC Family, 8 p.m.): Bay becomes the last-minute host for Lily’s baby shower, which hopefully has a switched-at-birth theme.

Awkward (MTV, 9 p.m.): Jenna and co. start getting ready for prom, but Jenna receives some news that will probably make things…awkward.

Faking It (MTV, 9:30 p.m.): Karma and Shane get in a competition with each other, and we’re betting Shane wins, because any other outcome is inconceivable, as Karma is the worst, and Shane is (usually) the best…except when he’s outing his boyfriend. Still, he’s better than Karma. Everyone is better than Karma.

Gone Girl (HBO, 8 p.m.): October is for spooky movies, but experience the very real horrors of marriage, courtesy of the brilliant monster Amy Dunne.

Hocus Pocus (ABC Family, 9 p.m.): It’s that time of the year when you can enjoy Hocus Pocus on television pretty much any day you want.
