Prime Video has released a teaser for Criminal, its upcoming, somewhat beleaguered crime drama based on the comic book series by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. The teaser arrives ahead of a two-part drop on the platform in January 2027, with four episodes of Criminal: Part One “Coward” hitting on January 13 and Criminal: Part Two “Lawless” on January 27, as part of an “interlocking universe of crime stories,” per an official release.
The teaser clicks those parts into a rough-and-tumble bigger whole, introducing felonious lonelyhearts Leo Patterson (Charlie Hunnam), Greta (Adria Arjona), Ricky Lawless (Gus Halper), and Mallory (Emilia Clarke) as all sorts of crime and violence explode around them. “Gunfights, heists, and tragic romance are the order of the day,” Prime Video writes in the release. “But will anyone make it out alive?” Indeed, complications for the criminal element are as commonplace as crackers next to a bowl of diner soup, and naturally Ricky’s attempts to go straight become all the more delicate upon the arrival of his older brother Tracy (Luke Evans), fresh from a jaunt in Uncle Sam’s Army, who threatens to open old family wounds and set Ricky back on the ill-traveled path to malefaction.
Criminal boasts an absolutely stacked cast, with Hunnam, Arjona, Halper, Evans, and Clarke joined by Richard Jenkins, Kadeem Hardison, John Hawkes, and Logan Browning. Its recurring cast list features Michael Mando, Garrett Hedlund, Patrick J. Adams, Pat Healy, Taylor Selé, Aliyah Camacho, Marvin Jones III, Michael Xavier, Dominic Burgess, Chris Diamantopoulos, Lawrence Kao, Katie Stevens, John Pyper-Ferguson, Robert Lee Hart, Aina Brei’yon, and Kyle Davis.
