Dog Day Afternoon is heading to Broadway
In a production that will finally give some lucky actor a chance to scream “Attica!” as loud as they can while getting paid, Warner Bros. has announced that it’s going to produce a Broadway adaptation of Sidney Lumet’s 1975 film Dog Day Afternoon. That comes from Deadline, which notes that this stage version will be written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis, who was also behind the awesomely titled The Motherfucker With The Hat and is an executive producer on Netflix’s The Get Down.
