Perhaps hundreds of thousands of people just had to see this train wreck shake out to the last little boxcar, but a Variety report from yesterday afternoon says the pilot of Fox News Channel's 1/2 Hour News Hour program grabbed 1.5 million viewers. The story notes that The Daily Show With Jon Stewart gets an average of 1.6 million viewers a night, but of course there's no telling if the pilot's ratings would hold later on in News Hour's run. Fox hasn't committed to the series long-term yet, and a second episode will air March 4.
