Yesterday, an international Ghostbusters trailer widely reported to be in Russian (it wasn’t, it was in Ukrainian) started making the English-language media rounds. And amid all the speculation over the actual linguistic content of the trailer, one thing was obvious: The increased profile of Chris Hemsworth, whose blonde hair and muscled physique apparently retain their appeal across any number of cultures, East Slavic and otherwise.
Anyway, that same trailer is now available in English courtesy of Australia, home of such delightful freaks of nature as the short-beaked echidna, George Miller, and, of course, Chris Hemsworth. Does knowing what Hemsworth’s bespectacled secretary is actually saying add that much to the experience? Not really, he’s the handsome doofus we all assumed he would be when he was cast. Is Leslie Jones’ character still mad as hell? Yup, and she’s not apologizing for it. Is she not going to take it anymore? We’ll find out when Ghostbusters draws boobs on a ghost on July 14, 2016.
