Congratulations, reader—you have made it to 2026. 2025 is now officially over, and we at The A.V. Club would like to wish you a Happy New Year. Whatever the next 12 months bring, they at least start with a federal holiday, so hopefully you too can take today to rest, celebrate, or whatever else you see fit to occupy your time with. 

While we’ve stepped away from the news desk today, we’ll invite you to take a look back at some of our favorite films and TV shows, and some of our favorite writing about those things, from the past year. Our regularly scheduled programming will resume tomorrow. Until then, soak up all that fresh 2026 air.
