Harrison Ford agrees to do what he calls acting these days in Ender's Game
Variety reports that Harrison Ford has officially signed on to stand around Gavin Hood’s adaptation of Ender’s Game, looking as though he’d rather be shoveling cow shit on his ranch than delivering his lines as Colonel Hyram Graff or whatever the hell he's supposed to be. Fortunately, Ford will be surrounded by the infectious effervescence of youth—which should really piss him off, but also make up for his vortex of energy—in the form of several new cast members like Abigail Breslin, who has just landed the role of Valentine Wiggin, older sister to the brilliant young strategist at the movie’s center, and a budding historian who’s usually at odds with the eldest Wiggin sibling, Peter, to be played by Jimmy “Jax” Pinchak (Let Me In).
Other new additions to the rapidly forming cast include Rendition’s Aramis Knight as Bean, Hannah Montana’s Moises Arias as Bonzo, 2009 U.S. Open singer Suraj Parthasarathy as Alai, Away We Go’s Conor Carroll as Bernard, and newcomer Khylin Rhambo as Dink. They join the previously announced Hailee Steinfeld as Petra and, of course, Ender himself, to be played by Asa Butterfield as soon as he repairs the fence he broke when he and the Littlejohn boy were off racing wheelbarrows. He can expect a stern talking-to from Harrison Ford, who doesn't cotton to that sort of thing, or most things.
