Here's what's coming to (and going from) HBO in September
Netflix is setting itself up for a big September, with some high-profile movies coming to the service thanks to its Disney deal, but HBO is all about getting high-profile movies, so its streaming offerings for next month are nothing to sneeze at. Regarding theatrical premieres, HBO subscribers in September will be able to watch Ferdinand, The Mummy, The Greatest Showman, Pitch Perfect 3, The Shape Of Water, and Phantom Thread, some of which were among the best movies of last year.
Subscribers will also get some Bring It On movies, some of the old Mummy movies (old as in 1999, not 1932), Funny People, Good Fellas, The Core, and Shrek 2. There’s also the series premiere of Miss Sherlock, a new take on the old detective guy that turns him into a Japanese woman living in present-day Tokyo. Best of all, though, HBO subscribers will finally get access to the full run of Arli$$.
Sadly, this will also be your last chance to watch (on HBO) the Alien movies, the Die Hard movies, Herbie: Fully Loaded, and some of the X-Men movies.
