It’s Bill Skarsgård is on his way to Castle Rock

Having already carved a bloody swathe across the fictional town of Derry, Maine—as Pennywise The Clown in this September’s upcoming It—Bill Skarsgård is now headed for Stephen King’s other sleepy Maine hamlet where things are never as normal as they seem. Variety reports that Skarsgård (who previously cut his fangs on Netflix’s Hemlock Grove) will star in Hulu’s planned King anthology series, Castle Rock.

Executive produced by J.J. Abrams (and announced with a big, mysterious J.J. Abrams teaser), Castle Rock has spent the last few months quietly assembling its cast, with Skarsgård joining André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy, and Sissy Spacek. The actor won’t be reprising his role as It/Pennywise, though; instead, he’ll be playing “a young man with an unusual legal problem,” a phrase that we can imagine taking in roughly a billion different and spooky ways. (“Oh god, the subpoena is coming from inside the house!”)
