James Franco to explore the duality of good-looking gynecologists on The Mindy Project
Continuing his increasingly frequent forays into TV comedy, presumably for a future exhibit entitled Francos For The Laughter, real-world cameo appearance James Franco has signed on to guest star in the second season of The Mindy Project, according to Fox. Franco will follow his frequent co-star Seth Rogen in appearing on the show, turning up in a two-episode arc as a former fashion model turned gynecologist named “Phil Leotard” (no relation), who “radically altered his career goals after he accidentally walked off a runway at fashion week and was saved by a pregnant woman. From that day forward, he devoted himself to helping pregnant women and immediately applied to medical school.” In other words, it’s a role that plays on James Franco’s own subversion of expectations by rejecting a shallow, looks-based profession for loftier academic pursuits. As well as playing into his oft-documented fascination with implements that are inserted into vaginas.
