Jay Baruchel threw some elbows, will direct that Goon sequel himself
After the surprise success of Goon, the Seann William Scott-starring movie about a lovable hockey-playing lunkhead, it wasn’t too much of a surprise when writer and co-star Jay Baruchel announced there would be a sequel. At the time, the Canadian actor stressed that they wouldn’t move forward without making sure the next movie delivered “the epic, violent, heartfelt awesomeness that is not just deserved but required.” It seems Baruchel has landed on the one director he can trust to provide all that violence and awesomeness, and it’s a real coincidence: according to The Hollywood Reporter, Baruchel himself will be helming the sequel to the 2011 film.
