Joss Whedon avows he isn't gonna stop being Joss Whedon
After a weekend that saw The Avengers triumph mightily over its bitterest rival The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel—and, as an added bonus, every other movie ever—you might expect that Joss Whedon is feeling pretty proud, and maybe also making self-deprecating quips about that pride laced with ironic pop-culture-referencing tangents. You would be right, and you can read them here at Whedonesque, where the director (whom no one will probably call "Josh" anymore, unless it's deliberately to be a dick) opens up about breaking all the box offices with his bare hands, and takes the time to thank those who made it possible besides the ones who gave him all the money. "People have told me that this matters, that my life is about to change. I am sure that is true," Whedon writes. "What doesn't change is that I've had the smartest, most loyal, most passionate, most articulate group of—I'm not even gonna say fans. I'm going with 'peeps'—that any cult oddity such as my bad self could have dreamt of."
