Juggernaut
Who he is: Juggernaut, a.k.a. Cain Marko
His power: Juggernaut is like a living freight train; he’s incredibly hard to stop when he gets moving, and when he hits, it’s with massively destructive force.
His story: Juggernaut is a meme turned into a person. Cain Marko is Magneto’s muscle in X-Men: The Last Stand, but details about his background are undisclosed. The comic-book version of the villain is Professor X’s half brother, and Marko’s English accent suggests that connection could still exist in the XMU, but it’s certainly not explicit in the film. Juggernaut’s character is just that he hits things really hard; he attacks the X-Men at Jean Grey’s house and goes after Jimmy during the assault on Worthington Labs. That’s where he fulfills his true function in the narrative by shouting, “I’m the Juggernaut, bitch!”—a reference that was already gathering dust when the movie was released. Jimmy’s mutant powers cancel out Juggernaut’s, and he ends up knocking himself unconscious by crashing into a wall, which is the last time Juggernaut is seen in the film. He may have died when the Phoenix decimated Alcatraz Island, but if he did, X-Men: Days Of Future Past undid his demise.
Played by: Vinnie Jones
Currently, Juggernaut is: Probably hitting something in England, or maybe plotting against his psychic half brother and his school of mutants, if the movies decide to bring the character back with a version closer to the comics.
Where will we see him next? There are no future plans for the Juggernaut (bitch), but if a future X-movie needs a new villain with a personal relationship to one of its characters, Cain Marko is currently available.
