Kara Swisher is taking her aviators elsewhere if Paramount takes CNN

Swisher says she has “too much do with you, Scott Galloway,” who, taking a break from diagnosing the male loneliness epidemic as the so-called “progressive Jordan Peterson,” wrongly assumes CNN is happy to get out of the Kara Swisher business. “No, they have been trying to keep me, very nicely,” she responds. But Swisher has other “things that make more money, and have a bigger audience.” 

More of these are likely as Paramount takes control of CNN, presumably because of how badly they’ve handled CBS. Since taking the reins of CBS, David Ellison personally put an inexperienced conservative firebrand named Bari Weiss in control because Ellison liked her blog, and she has promptly punted stories on America’s foreign concentration camps for immigrants, alienated 60 Minutes‘ longtime staffers, and overseen a complete ratings collapse at the network. Ironically, one of the first to jump ship from CBS after Weiss’ joining was 60 Minutes correspondent Anderson Cooper, who is still one of CNN’s top names. Will he also throw on the proverbial Kara Swisher shades of willful exit and give the Ellisons a two-finger salute on the way out? We’ll see when Paramount finally takes control of the brand.
