Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, and Q-Tip are making a hip-hop drama for TV
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill will take their Wolf Of Wall Street partnership to another level, joining forces to document another milieu that’s similarly been accused of being dick-obsessed: The duo are developing a hip-hop drama series loosely based on the life of A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip, according to Deadline. DiCaprio and Q-Tip are old friends—“That’s just my boy,” Q-Tip said of DiCaprio back in 2008, of the “bromance” they’d enjoyed since the word “bromance” was still used—and now it seems Jonah Hill has been brought into the fold. All three are collaborating on the show that will draw inspiration from Q-Tip’s life during the late ’80s/early ’90s Native Tongues era, when Tribe, De La Soul, and Jungle Brothers promoted a more positive, Afrocentric alternative to gangsta rap.
