Oh good, HBO debuts first look at Jesse Armstrong film as America enters new financial crisis
Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste

Jesse Armstrong’s new HBO film is about “a group of billionaire friends” who “get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis,” which doesn’t feel timely or overly familiar at all! Luckily, we’re about to have a bunch of juicy new Armstrong dialogue to distract us from… all of that, so at least something to look forward to in the next few months. The Succession creator may be a recession indicator, but he’s a pretty damn exciting one.

Armstrong’s much-hyped new film—officially titled Mountainhead (a play on The Fountainhead?)—premieres May 31 at 8 p.m. ET. Park City, Utah may have lost Sundance, but the city will always get to boast that it was the setting for Armstrong’s feature-length debut. Production wraps in its snowy hills this week.

The film’s cast suggests that the writer-director is going for a similarly acerbic tone as Succession‘s. Steve Carrell stars as a character named Randall, along with Cory Michael Smith as Venis, Ramy Youssef as Jeff, and Jason Schwartzman as someone we’re all going to either really hate or really love named “Souper” (a.k.a. Hugo Van Yalk). Supporting cast members include Hadley Robinson as Hester, Andy Daly as Casper, Ali Kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Ami MacKenzie as Janine, and Ava Kostia as Paula.

HBO also released some first look images today, and yeah… these guys are rich rich. Kendall and co. would fit right in. Check them out below:
