Music news: Proclaimers back on the charts, Sonic Youth under investigation

—The Proclaimers' early '90s hit song "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" is back at No. 1 on the British charts after being re-released as a charity single. Now you will have it stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

—From the New York Times courtesy of Idolator: Sonic Youth was among the bands investigated by the New York Police Department during the 2004 Republican National Convention because of its involvement in the Bands Against Bush concerts. The investigation found, unsurprisingly, that the band peaked in the late '80s.
