Though it hasn't reached 2Pacian proportions yet, the 2006 passing of beloved cult producer/MC J-Dilla has spurred a good deal of posthumous releases. The latest is a collection of mostly instrumental tracks with a few vocals from prominent Dilla fans/collaborators like Black Thought, DOOM (who has officially shed the MF from his name) and M.O.P thrown in for good measure called Jay Stay Paid. The album will be Executive-Produced by Dilla's mother, affectionately known to Hip Hop fans as Ma Dukes. Dilla's long-time hero and collaborator Pete Rock will help put the album together and serve as its musical director. Jay Stay Paid is due out June 2nd on Nature Sounds.
