Now That's What I Call Music! celebrates its 69th edition, but not without controversy

On Tuesday, the folks at Universal and Sony Music announced the song lineup for the newest upcoming entry in the evidently still-running Now That’s What I Call Music series. More important than songs by Diplo and Mark Ronson, however, is the fact that this edition will be the long-running compilation’s 69th entry. Nice.
Even the official Twitter account for Now acknowledged the significance of Now That’s What I Call Music: The Sex Number Edition. Then, after Twitter god Chrissy Teigen commented on the milestone, the rest of the Twittersphere began taking notice.
Celebrations were, shall we say, predictable.
But, this being Twitter, it wasn’t long until the haters arrived, breaking up the party by saying Now’s 69th iteration actually arrived in 2008…in the U.K.
