Mysterious M. Night Shyamalan-Nicholas Sparks project courts Phoebe Dynevor

What we do know is that the film will be made from an original story that Shyamalan and Sparks created together. As Shyamalan is adapting the story into a screenplay, Sparks is simultaneously adapting it into a novel. Sparks is also aboard the film as an executive producer. 

Dynevor has already logged a pretty busy year, appearing in the spy thriller Inheritance, which premiered in January. She appears to have been on a bit of a thriller kick, even before signing on for Shyamalan’s film; Beneath The Story, Anniversary, and Famous are all described as part of the genre, and are all currently in post-production. “Sexual tension is very similar to building tension in a thriller or a spy genre,” she told Bustle earlier this year of her pivot from Bridgerton. “It’s [part of] acting and keeping the scene alive. To have chemistry with someone on screen, there is a certain tension that has to happen.” Sounds like a great outlook for someone tasked with blending the sensibilities of a romance author and a master of the supernatural.
