Ryan Adams covers “Bad Blood,” gives his Taylor Swift tribute LP a release date

Ryan Adams’ Taylor Swift homage finally has a release date. Adams’ song-for-song take on Swift’s 1989 record is due to hit the internet on Monday, September 21. Interested parties can pre-order the record now on iTunes and instantly receive Adams’ cover of “Bad Blood,” which he also premiered on Beats 1 yesterday. Vinyl and CD copies of Adams’ 1989 will also be available in the near future.

Swift is characteristically jazzed about the whole thing, tweeting that Adams’ music “helped shape [her] songwriting” and calling his take on her tunes “surreal and dreamlike.” Adams, in turn, is no doubt stoked that Swift is stoked, because millions of Taylor Swift fans mean millions of dollars, and that kind of scratch has never hurt any musician’s career.
