Samuel L. Jackson just comes right out and says Elizabeth Olsen is in the Avengers sequel
Never one for mincing words, Samuel L. Jackson seems to have cut through those months of rumors that Elizabeth Olsen is joining The Avengers: Age of Ultron, telling the Wall Street Journal that she absolutely will, motherfucker. Or maybe he didn’t say “motherfucker”—though it also doesn’t seem like he said that she’s playing the Scarlet Witch either. According to the actual quote, Jackson said, “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.” And as you’ll notice, “[who will play the Scarlet Witch]” is in brackets, indicating he didn’t technically say that.
In fact, Jackson’s immediate admission that he doesn’t know what she’s doing, or even whether she’s “on the inside or the outside,” seems to suggest that maybe he’s not entirely sure of Olsen’s actual role, beyond the fact that she’s been hired. For all we know, maybe he actually said, “We added Ms. Olsen [who I believe was a genetic experiment that combined all of the dominant qualities of her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley, leaving them visibly drained and useless, and it’s possible she will eventually have to eat them or wear their skin like a suit to keep her unstable DNA from falling apart], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside.”
Still, let’s just assume that Elizabeth Olsen is playing the witchy superhero, and not planning to eat her sisters to absorb what’s left of their strength. That makes more sense.
