Ensuring that the inevitable Wikipedia page for “Russian Ambassador Scandal of 2017” will be forced to take yet another turn for the tangential and weird, Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker has now become embroiled in the international hullaballoo. Like all political complications of the modern era, the trouble began with social media, when Parker re-posted a SaTC meme making fun of the numerous Trump-related officials who’ve been connected with Russia to her Instagram:
Normal enough, right? But then, according to Vulture, the official Twitter account for the Russian Foreign Ministry apparently noticed Parker’s post, and responded in kind:
(The #Zakharova in question is presumably Maria Zakharova, the Director of the Information and Press Department for the Ministry.) We’re not sure what Parker will do with her sudden high-level access to Russian diplomats, but it does open up a lot of key questions, like, “Is Donald Trump more of a Carrie or a Miranda?” (Putin’s a Samantha, to be sure.)
