Secret Space finds a “Second Life” on its new record
For its debut on Equal Vision Records, Toledo, Ohio’s Secret Space took a big step forward. While its self-titled EP could have easily been classified as part of the burgeoning shoegaze renaissance, The Window Room pushes things in an even spacier direction. The A.V. Club is premiering “Second Life” below, which sees the band channeling the likes of Elliott, another pop-tinged band that threaded the needle between grandiose post-rock and bouncing indie. ”Second Life” is built around a delicate melody that Secret Space pushes to the brink of destruction, but never allows to fully collapse.
The Window Room will be released on June 17 via Equal Vision Records and pre-orders are available now. The band’s upcoming tour dates with Turnover and Sports can be found below.
