Sharon Stone "Euphoric" to officially join Euphoria season 3

The Basic Instinct actor joins Marshawn Lynch, Rosalía, and many more new cast members.

Hopefully the East Highland glitter stores have been stocking up over the past three years—the population of the fictional Euphoria town keeps getting bigger. Today, Sharon Stone announced that she was officially joining season three of the long-on-hiatus HBO series, confirming rumors that had been swirling since the beginning of this month. “There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent,” the Oscar nominee wrote in a statement, via The Hollywood Reporter. “From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric.”

Just one season ago, it may have seemed like a stretch for Euphoria to score someone of Stone’s caliber. But that was three years ago, and a lot of things have changed in the interim. Many of the show’s core cast members have gone on to become major movie stars. Zendaya is about to star in a Christopher Nolan movie (and Shrek 5, if that’s more your thing), Jacob Elordi is doing both Frankenstein and Wuthering Heights, Sydney Sweeney is prepping to play boxer Christy Martin, and Hunter Schafer will appear in David Lowery’s Mother Mary sometime soon. Colman Domingo has scored not one, but two Oscar nominations since we last saw his Euphoria character. Sharon Stone—whose lengthy career includes roles in Basic Instinct, Total Recall, Sliver, and Casino—will fit in just fine.

As previously mentioned, Stone isn’t the only new resident of Euphoria‘s East Highland. Former NFL player Marshawn Lynch and Grammy winner Rosalía will also join the cast, as well as Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Darrell Britt-Gibson, and Anna Van Patten. Former guest stars Chloe Cherry and Martha Kelly have been bumped up to series regulars for the new installment, which will also see the returns of the aforementioned newly-minted movie stars, in addition to Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, and more. Against what once seemed like all odds, Euphoria season three is filming now.
