Showtime gives Ray Donovan a second season to fix himself
Showtime has picked up a second season of Ray Donovan, the series in which Liev Schreiber stars as one of the many scandal-averting “fixers” that are so hot on television and real life right now, yet who, ironically, can do nothing to fix his wife’s terrible Boston accent. The renewal is more than just Showtime’s usual reward for being on the air and not breaking anything: Ray Donovan garnered the network its highest-rated premiere ever and even rising in its second week, with millions of viewers tuning in to see Schreiber solve the problems of his wealthy clientele yet fail to solve his own, as that is how drama is made. Or, like us, they remain irresistibly drawn to Schreiber’s co-star Pooch Hall, lost in their daydreams about a countryside manor run by rambunctious puppies. Not even Ray Donovan could solve the adorable problems of Pooch Hall!
