Steve Carell developing another NBC office comedy that he doesn't want to star in either
Although Steve Carell is still leaving The Office behind to explore his passion for bas-relief carving or whatever, he’s pinky-sworn to stay best friends forever with NBC by handing them a new single-camera comedy tentatively titled The Post-Graduate Project. The show—which Carell will write and executive produce but not star in—is based on Carell's own brief, pre-showbiz career as a mailman, centering on “a small-town post office frequented by a quirky but tight-knit group of local twentysomethings.” You know, much like the local post office that you and your own group of fellow quirky twentysomethings like to hang out in, chatting about current events and the latest music while buying stamps and such. In a total missed opportunity, it will not be called The Post Office.
